DESIGN DIRECTOR- IHG LUXURY & LIFESTYLE AMERICAS
As a hospitality design professional for over 15 years, Rebecca is a passionate traveler, architecture enthusiast, and beauty seeker. “With a voracious appetite for new experiences, I feel fortunate to work in a field that exposes me to the best design, food and culture. When designing our properties, I obsess about the guest journey. What is the first thing guests see? How do we create an authentic sense of place at each property? How can these spaces pique guests’ curiosity and create lasting memories?I think of travel in poetic terms. It's more than a vacation, it’s a calling to discover things beyond the borders of our minds and everyday environments.”
Let’s see the world through her lens in these memorable travel moments.

Well Fed, a mealFunaokayama Simizu in Kyoto Its Kaiseki cuisine, a culinary art form originating in Kyoto which celebrates seasonal ingredients, textural variation and artful presentation. It was just us, two other guests and the chef. The tenderness and precision he took in the preparation of each dish was something to behold – we left transformed.

Well Spent, a splurgeHandcrafted goods from Japan Japanese artisans do things with such intention and reverence. You really feel the soulfulness of a sake cup when you hold it, knowing the care that went into each brush stroke and imprint.

Well Intentioned, a lessonMake reservations! When our family visited Paris, I didn’t make many reservations, assuming we could figure things out as we went along. Was I wrong! While much of Paris can be enjoyed casually, make reservations for anything important. Sadly, we didn’t get to experience a few restaurants we really wanted to try.
